The Halifax was built in Portsmouth, N.H. as the Ranger. She fell into British hands in Charleston, South Carolina in 1780. Guns were added and she was used to enforce their custom and tax laws against the Colonies.
The model is plank on bulkhead construction and framed in walnut. The sails are hand-stitched muslin. The case is cherry.
